BIGGEST LOSER CONTESTANT O’NEAL TO APPEAR AT SENIOR COMMUNITY FOR ALZHEIMER’S FUNDRAISER

 Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

O’FALLON, Mo.—August 31, 2010—O’Neal Hampton, contestant from the most recent season of NBC’s The Biggest Loser Couples, has a strong desire to share the knowledge he gained on the show with others. He recently opened Fitness North, a live-in weight loss and healthy lifestyle resource center in his home state of Minnesota, as a means to do so.

“Because everyone can’t be on The Biggest Loser this is my way of sharing some of the experiences I went through,” said Hampton. “I would like everyone to feel as good as I do right now for the rest of their lives …”

Hampton will be appearing at Assisted Living at the Meadowlands on Sun., Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. to share his personal story of change and growth.

The community is asking for donations as admission. The donations will go towards fundraising efforts for the St. Charles County Memory Walk.

O’Neal and his daughter Sunshine appeared on the show. Fans followed O’Neal’s progress throughout 15 weeks on the show that chronicled his weight loss of 124 pounds.

O’Neal and family hold a special connection to Alzheimer’s disease. His mother-in-law Alice died from Alzheimer’s disease two years ago.

Those interested in attending are asked to R.S.V.P. to (636) 978-3600 by Sat., Sept. 11. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.

Assisted Living at the Meadowlands was the first of its kind in O’Fallon to offer a memory care neighborhood for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

The community is the brainchild of Kevin Kast and Stephanie Harris, Esq., CEO of Arrow Senior Living Management. Kast is a managing member of New Covenant Health Care, LLC, an investment group consisting of prominent local community members inspired to create innovative changes in senior living. Members include Shawn Saale, Dr. Carlos Seuc, Grace Harmon and Bob Wamhoff, among others.

A Letter to the Executive Director

 Saturday, March 27th, 2010

Just an expression of gratitude to you and your staff, also to all employees at the Meadowlands.  Everyone is exceptionally kind and considerate, not only to my mother but to all who are residing at the estates.  I have not witnessed my mother being this well and healthy and happy in the last two years as she is at Meadowlands.  All of you are definitely a caring from the heart group.  Dr. Hinton stays aware of my mother’s condition thanks to your nursing staff.  Meadowlands is a hospitality inn for the elderly.  Wish all that are concerned well and your efforts are appreciated.

Tom D.

Caregiver Cocktail Receptions

On November 12th and 18th, we hosted cocktail receptions for caregivers in order to meet caregivers from the community.  This allowed us to explain who and what we at the Meadowlands represent as well as answering any questions that may be lingering within the community about the services that we can provide.  Tours were given to all of the caregivers as well as a nice caregiver package for all who attended.

Thank you to all the caregivers out there for your efforts.

Alzheimer’s Memory Walk Wrap-Up Event

 Thursday, November 12th, 2009

After the walks are finished, everyone that has contributed and worked so hard campaigning for donations is brought together for an evening celebrating the success.  We were honored to sponsor the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk Wrap-Up Event.  The walks themselves allowed us to meet so many people and develop so many relationships.  It was very nice to be able to talk to those people again and relax.
